Installation

Where does TONIQ install?

macOS: AU in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components, VST3 in ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3, AAX in /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins.
Windows: VST3 in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, AAX in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins.

My DAW doesn't see TONIQ after installing

Rescan your plugin folder in your DAW's preferences. In Logic, go to Logic Pro → Settings → Plug-in Manager and click "Reset & Rescan". In Pro Tools, restart the application. In Ableton, go to Preferences → Plug-Ins and click "Rescan".

Does TONIQ support Apple Silicon natively?

Yes. TONIQ ships as a Universal Binary — native on both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs. No Rosetta needed.

Compatibility

Which DAWs are supported?

TONIQ works in any DAW that supports AU (macOS), VST3, or AAX. Tested in Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Studio One, Cubase, FL Studio, Reaper, and GarageBand.

What sample rates are supported?

44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, and 96 kHz. The note detection engine adapts automatically.

Does it work with instruments other than guitar?

Yes. TONIQ's adaptive profiler works with any polyphonic instrument — guitar, piano, keys, ukulele, harp. The profiler learns your instrument's harmonic profile in about 0.3 seconds.

Using TONIQ

What's the difference between Mono and Stereo input mode?

Mono mode: Takes a mono guitar DI and creates stereo from it — each detected note gets its own pan position. Stereo mode: Takes an existing stereo signal and re-images it with note-aware panning, giving you per-note control over the stereo field.

Is the stereo output mono-compatible?

Yes. TONIQ uses amplitude-based panning — no phase tricks, no Haas delay, no comb filtering. Fold to mono and nothing disappears. Safe for livestream, broadcast, and in-ear monitoring.

What does the HARD knob do?

HARD controls how aggressively notes are panned. At 0%, notes spread smoothly across the field. At 100%, notes snap to hard Left, Center, or Right positions — like three separate amps.

How do Zone FX work?

TONIQ splits your chord into Low, Mid, and High note zones (not frequency bands — actual notes). Each zone gets its own EQ, reverb send, and delay. Reverb on the high zone only wets the high notes, not the upper harmonics of your bass notes.
